Emi Shoemaker is a registered and licensed Occupational Therapist with a Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy. She is also a certified lymphedema therapist through Klose training with a higher level of lymphedema specialty through LANA (The Lymphology Association of North America).
She received her bachelor’s degree in Science from the University of Findlay, while completing 3 fieldwork rotations, including Mayo Clinic, The Hope House, and Blanchard Valley School. Emi also received her Master’s Degree from The University of Findlay in Occupational Therapy. Emi completed two clinical rotations in graduate school. Her first rotation was at Century Health, working with mental health diagnoses in the community. Her second rotation was at The Ohio State University Martha Morehouse Outpatient clinic, working on the neuro team focusing on CVAs, TBIs, and trauma rehab. Following graduation, Emi worked for the Marietta Memorial Health System in Marietta, Ohio, in the neuro outpatient clinic. She focused on Driving Rehabilitation, vision therapy, lymphedema management, and concussion recovery. Emi and her family moved to Findlay in 2019, where Emi had the opportunity to work in pediatrics with Blanchard Valley Health System. Emi enjoyed working in pediatrics while focusing on developmental delays, neurological disorders, and sensory dysregulation. Emi also worked at the Bluffton hospital in the outpatient department with adults recovering from orthopedic injuries and reconstructive surgeries. Outside of OT, Emi and her husband love spending time with their 3 children. They have a passion for hospitality and building community, as well as being active in their church.
