Learn AboutAustin J. Roebke

Dr. Austin Roebke is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic spine surgeon with expertise in minimally invasive and motion-preserving procedures. He specializes in helping patients find relief from neck and back pain through personalized, cutting-edge care designed to restore mobility and improve quality of life.

Originally from Kalida, Ohio, Dr. Roebke is proud to return home to care for patients in his own community. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Dayton in three years. He then went on to earn his M.D. and complete his orthopaedic surgery residency at The Ohio State University, where he helped care for high school, college, and professional athletes. To offer the most advanced spine care available in the comfort of our community, Dr. Roebke completed a fellowship in minimally invasive spine surgery at OrthoCarolina in Charlotte, NC—one of the top programs in the country. His specialized training includes:

  • Endoscopic, tubular, and mini-open nerve decompressions
  • Muscle-sparing fusions
  • CT- and robotic-assisted surgery
  • Neck disc replacement (cervical arthroplasty)
  • Motion-preserving cervical laminoplasty

Dr. Roebke has contributed to over 100 peer-reviewed publications, advancing the fields of orthopaedic and spine surgery. He is also an adjunct professor in orthopaedic surgery at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, which allows him to stay active in the education of residents and complex spinal deformity care. Outside of work, Dr. Roebke is a lifelong sports enthusiast and Ironman. He enjoys working out, playing soccer and basketball, and following The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Tour de France. Most of all, he loves spending time with his wife, Megan, and their five sons.
