Meet Joseph R. Misson M.D.

Dr. Joseph R. Misson, M.D. is board-certified in orthopaedic surgery and holds a Certificate of Added Qualification in sports medicine. He is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati and the Medical College of Ohio (former; now The University of Toledo Medical School). Dr. Misson completed his residency at the Grand Rapids Medical Education and Research Center and completed a fellowship (additional year of focused, specialized training) in orthopaedic arthroscopy and sports medicine at New Mexico Orthopaedics in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and an active member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America.

Dr. Misson serves as the orthopaedic team physician for Bluffton University and Shawnee High School.

He specializes in the treatment of complex knee and shoulder injuries through minimally invasive arthroscopic techniques, as well as performing shoulder and knee replacements (partial and full replacements). Dr. Misson is the only area surgeon certified in cartilage transplantation of the knee (meniscus and ACI or Genzyme procedures). His fellowship training and continued education keep him at the forefront of the latest advancements in Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine.

Dr. Misson is currently accepting new patients at office locations in Coldwater, Lima, and St. Marys.
