Mark G. McDonald, M.D.
Dr. McDonald is a graduate of The Ohio State University College of Medicine. Summa Cum Laude. He graduated from Ball State University where he was a Varsity Letterman in Football.
He is a graduate of Lima Senior High School. He is Board Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He completed his Orthopaedic Surgery residency at the University of Kentucky. He specializes in knee surgery, knee arthroscopy, total knee replacement and sports medicine. He was the team physician at Bluffton University and Lima Senior High School for many years. In 2000, he was named “Team Physician of the Year” by the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference, of which Bluffton University is a member.
Dr. McDonald is the CEO, President and Chairman of the Board at the Institute for Orthopaedic Surgery (IOS), an Orthopaedic Specialty Hospital. He is the President of the Medical Staff at IOS and also co-chairs its Medical Advisory Committee. He has been recognized multiple times as one of the Top 60 U.S. Physician Leaders of Hospital & Health Systems by Becker’s Hospital Review: Business & Legal Issues for Health Systems Leadership
